Introducing of new mechanisms for financing health care

As part of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the World Bank's "Serving People, Improving Health" joint project, on March 17, 2016 the World Bank held a workshop in Irpin on the introduction of the new mechanisms for financing the health care facilities with the involvement of the World Bank experts, the Project Consulting Support Unit, and the regional coordinators for the implementation of the diagnostic-related groups in Ukraine.

 

The main issues discussed at the workshop included the following:

 

- Implementation plans of the health care reform, a brief analysis of financial management in the health care system and the introduction of new funding mechanisms for HCF (I. Perehinets, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Health care of Ukraine, O. Doroshenko, World Bank's consultant, V. Rudyi, PCSU consultant)

 

- The main stages in the preparation for the implementation of payment for the treated cases for the hospital sector (Deputy head of Center for Medical Statistics of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Mr. S. Dyachenko)

 

- The main stages of the eHealth introduction, its meaning for the implementation of the new mechanisms for financing the health care facilities (PCSU Consultant, Mr. A. Babchenko, V. Muzyka).

 

Lviv oblast is represented by the Head of the Health Care Department, Mr. Bohdan Chechotka, and head specialist of the Department of medical care organization for adults Department, Coordinator for the implementation of the diagnostic-related groups in Lviv oblast, Ms. Liliya Yuhymiv.

During the workshop, Mr. Bohdan Chechotka and the World Bank Program Leader for the Ukraine, Belarus, and Moldova Country Unit, Dr. Feng Zhao discussed the state of the implementation and the main risks arising during the implementation of the "Preventive oncology and the implementation of effective anti-tumor technologies in Lviv oblast".
