The decade of prevention of hypertension "Know your blood pressure numbers" continues in Zaporozhye region

In the Zaporozhye region in support of the World Organization of hypertension continues decade of prevention of hypertension "Know your blood pressure numbers."

 

By initiative of the Department of Health ZODA  within the framework of the World Bank project in the Zaporozhye region contributed not only doctors centers of primary health care, but also representatives of pharmaceutical establishments. Actively support the action of the Department of Health ZODA pharmacies "Primula", "Pharmacy 216" and "Pharmacy Dr. Mom.", and higher medical education establishments which together with pharmacy chains arranged temporary public points to measure blood pressure. Young medical interns of Zaporozhye State Medical University and Zaporozhye Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education at the pharmacies measure blood pressure, give professional advice to citizens on prevention of hypertension and inform about healthy lifestyles. In the Zaporozhye region every third inhabitant numbers have increased blood pressure, but a significant portion of them do not know about it, because the disease may not manifest itself for years. That is why hypertension is called the "silent killer" High blood pressure is a major cause of stroke and heart attack, leading to disability and premature mortality.  "Zaporizhzhya Regional Health Center" provided participants with information booklets and promotional materials. Promoting basic idea of ??the shares will increase awareness of patients regarding their blood pressure numbers.
