Preventive oncology: cancer screening in women

Initiated by the physicians form the Stryi district, specifically the head physician in Stryi municipal hospital, Osyp Mykolayovych Behey, the doctors from the Lviv State Oblast-level Cancer Treatment and Diagnostics Centre, as well as the consultants of the "Preventive oncology and the implementation of effective anti-tumour technologies in Lviv oblast" Subproject, visited the city of Stryi in the framework of the "Preventive oncology in the Lviv oblast: cancer screening in women" conference and presented their reports, in particular: 

 

- Cervical cancer screening - Svitlana Struk, gynecologic oncologist, head of the gynecology department in the Lviv State Oblast-level Cancer Treatment and Diagnostics Centre;

 

- Breast cancer - Mykhailo Bilych, surgical oncologist/mammologist, head of the mammology department in the Lviv State Oblast-level Cancer Treatment and Diagnostics Centre.

 

The Subproject Management Consultant, Khrystyna Pak, spoke about the implementation of the "Preventive oncology and the implementation of effective anti-tumour technologies in Lviv oblast" Subproject.

 

In addition, the coordinator of the Multi-district screening centre in the city of Stryi, Olena Zelinska, spoke about the work of the centre, which provides services for the patients from the cities of Stryi, Morshyn, the districts of Stryi, Zhydachiv, and Sokal.

 

The conference was attended by gynecologists, therapists, medical specialists in the field of ultrasound examination, and radiologists. At the end of presenting the reports, the participants asked relevant questions.
