The evolution of the views of A.I. Hnatyshak in clinical oncology

At the initiative of the Lviv Oblast-level Cancer Treatment and Diagnostics Centre, a conference was held on 21.01.2017 due to the 100th anniversary of the birth of prof. A.I. Hnatyshak, the founder of the first Department of Oncology in the former Soviet Union, opened in 1966 in Lviv - "The evolution of views of A.I. Hnatyshak in clinical oncology."
 
The book of prof. B.T. Bilynsky "Professor Anatoliy Ivanovych Hnatyshak" was presented during the conference; the reports were related to his original philosophical ideas and medical ideas, including cancer treatment individualization.
 
The dynamics of the oncology service in the Lviv oblast up to the present was presented as well; the prospects were indicated as well, in particular those that are currently being implemented through the "Preventive oncology and the implementation of effective anti-tumour technologies in Lviv oblast" through the support of the World Bank and the Ministry of Health care of Ukraine.
 
During the conference, the reports of the Lviv colleagues, in particular from the Department of Lviv National Medical University: B.T. Bilynsky, professor at the Department of Oncology and Medical Radiology; I.Z. Derzhko, associate professor, head of the Department of Philosophy and Economics; T.H. Fetsych, professor, head of the Department of Oncology and Medical Radiology; N.A. Volodko, professor at the Department of Oncology and Medical Radiology, as well as the doctors from the Lviv State Oblast-level Cancer Treatment and Diagnostics Centre: head physician, I.V. Kovalchuk, head oncologist; Ya.V. Shparyk, associate professor, head of the Department of Chemotherapy; Yu.P. Diychuk, head of the Department of Urology, Yu. P. Mylian, radiologist, and O.V. Tril, deputy head physician in the Lviv State Cancer Treatment and Diagnostics Centre. 
 
Yu.V. Dumansky, a corresponding member of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Rector of Donetsk National Medical University; O.O. Kovalyov, professor, head non-state expert in Oncology of the Ministry of Health care of Ukraine, were invited as well.
