Health care School in the village of Nezhuhiv (Stryi district)

 

The fifth meeting under the initiative "Health care School" was in the village of Nezhuhiv, in the Stryi district.

 

The people striving for the meetings with the experts and simply with caring people who do have what to say to the listeners.

 

Many thanks to Iryna Hodzinska, a family physician at the general practice and family medicine outpatient unit in the village of Nezhuhiv, for her initiative and for striving that such Health care School be held at their facility.  

 

This time, the attendees were presented to the "Causes and prevention of disease" by Vadym Semenyuk, gynecologic oncologist in the Lviv State Cancer Treatment and Diagnostics Centre. Since most of the participants were senior high school girls, Vadym Oleksandrovych emphasized the program for vaccination against human papilloma virus, which is underway in the Western specialized children's medical center. Vaccination is free, the target group includes girls aged 11-14, who have not been sexually active yet.

 

Oksana Bokalo, a practicing psychologist, emphasized the barriers that hinder our prevention visits to doctors,and 5 stages of psychological reaction in the perception of the diagnosis.

 

We hope that such meetings within the established Health care Schools are not the final ones and will be useful and effective in our efforts to be healthy!
