Training at the Polish Mother's Memorial Hospital & Research Institute

A group of gynecologists from the Lviv oblast began a week-long training at the Polish Mother's Memorial Hospital & Research Institute in Lodz (Poland).
The training session began with lectures led by the histomorphologist, Dr.Andrzej Kaluzynski, who spoke about cervical pathology form the point of view of the morphologist and cytologist. He spoke a lot about the reforms in Poland, how they reached good results, how they implemented new approaches to obtain good results (the work of cytologists and gynecologists to ensure good sample taking in cytology), how to achieve the improvement of the research results quality in cervical pathology. He also provided practical advice and reasons associated with the emergence of problems related to poor quality sample taking.
In addition, Dr. Polotz Warczynski, a representative of the Polish Ministry of Health, presented a reform of the health care system in Poland.
In the form of a discussion, Dr. Andrzej Kaluzynski gave examples of examinations held in America and other countries of the world, he cited statistics of screening programs.
Simply about the complex matters - "Cervical pathology, Liquid-based cytology", the theory combined with practice. They spoke about work in the laboratory at the workplace of cytomorphologists, and how their work in Poland is organized.
Krzysztof Suszek, a health expert, taught about extremely important and relevant topic of "Communicating with a cancer patient. Stress: causes, ways to overcome".
In addition to the lectures, the participants of the training session had an opportunity to visit the in-patient unit of the Polish Mother's Memorial Hospital & Research Institute in Lodz, in particular, they became acquainted with new technologies associated with pregnancy in case of serious illness. The whole process of providing care was demontrated in the surgical room.
