Participation in the training "Basis of monitoring and evaluation (FM & E)"

On October 18 – 20 of the current year the training “Fundamentals of monitoring and evaluation” (hereinafter FM&E) was held within the framework of joint implementation with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development of the investment Project “Improving health on servicing people”, organized by Ministry of Health of Ukraine jointly with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development for the technical support to the “Alliance of Public Health” ICF. TheeventwasattendedbyrepresentativesoftheWorldBank, “AllianceofPublic Health” ICFВ, consultants of the “Improving health on servicing people” Project, independent researchers, heads of regional health state administrations, consultants from management of regional subprojects, specialists in monitoring and evaluation. Zaporizhzhia Oblast was presented by Victoria Klymenko, Director of Health Care Department of Zaporizhzhia State Administration and Nadezhda Demidenko, consultant in communication technologies.
The purpose of the training was to increase the staffing capacity of Ministry of Health Care and Health Care Regional State Administrations to optimize management activities within the framework of the “Improving health on servicing people” Project.
Duringthethreedaysofthetrainingparticipants were introduced to the FM&E system as a management activity component, learned the basic methods of FM&E and gained skills in collecting, evaluating and use of FM&E data. Particular attention was paid to ensuring the quality of data as an important component of the Sustainability of the FM&E system.
ParticipantswereabletodemonstratetheirknowledgeoftheuseoftheFM&E system during Practical Exercise: Assessment of the implementation of the Project to improve effective reformuse of public health resources in their regions.
The results of the exercise were attended by all participants in the training, finding new solutions for more efficient use of resources. Asaresultofthetraining, participantsagreedthatopendiscussionon certain topics, the opportunity of exchanging experiences, performing, and detailed analyzing practical exercises with coaches are very helpful for productive work of all subprojects.
