The Health care Department held another bid opening procedure under the international bidding in the framework of the joint World Bank's and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine "Serving People, Improving Health", specifically within the "Preventive oncology and the implementation of effective anti-tumour technologies in Lviv oblast".
On December 27, 2017, the public bid opening of the received bids from Ukrainian and foreign participants towards the procurement ICB 4.1.10 "Equipment for invasive methods of treatment, for ultrasound and for radiological diagnostic methods in the health care facilities of the oblast" was held. The procurement is associated with the purchase of the ultrasound devices for the oblast-level and for district hospitals, of the mammography device, and endoscopic equipment.
Procurement of goods, works or services in cooperation with the World Bank is carried out in accordance with the requirements and rules set forth by the IBRD towards international bidding procedures, and takes place in a completely transparent manner.
The joint World Bank's and the MOH of Ukraine "Serving People, Improving Health" Project is oriented towards the support of reforming the health care system and is focused on achieving the three main objectives: combatting non-communicable diseases, with emphasis on prevention; improving the quality and efficiency of medical care; optimizing and restructuring hospitals and outpatient services associated with the secondary level.
The project is implemented in the period between 2015 and 2020 in 8 regions of Ukraine: Volyn, Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Transcarpathian, Poltava, Rivne, and Lviv oblasts.
The "Preventive oncology and the implementation of effective anti-tumour technologies" subprpoject in the Lviv oblast is focused on improving health of the female population in the Lviv oblast in the field of combating malignant tumors.
The procurements held under the subproject are carried out in accordance with the rules of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development using the loan funds No. 8475-UA allocated for the "Serving People, Improving Health" Project of the government of Ukraine and IBRD.
