Features of mammography diagnostics; tactics for treating breast cancer

On February 21, 2018, a workshop "Peculiar features of mammography diagnostics; tactics for treating breast cancer" was held in the Lviv State Cancer Treatment and Diagnostics Center. The workshop was interesting from a practical point of view for doctors carrying out diagnostics and in terms of treatment for clinicians; it was set up using peculiar approaches to breast cancer, and from the point of view of screening, included prominent speakers who are professionals both in surgery and in drug therapy. A separate task was to highlight complicated issues associated with radiological treatment in the context of current trends in organ preservation and implantation.
Orest Tril, the deputy head physician for the medical part in the Cancer Treatment and Diagnostics Center, who informed the attendees about the results of the screening centers in 2017, conducted analysis of the workload, and discussed in detail with the attendees the patients' pathway and the subsequent steps to improve the work.
The associate professor in the Department of Bohomolets National University, Ph.D. O. S. Zotov, delivered a report on the topic of comprehensive treatment of breast cancer; another report on the topic of "Hormonotherapy of hormone-dependent breast cancer" was delivered by the associate professor Ya. V. Shparyk, the head of the chemo-therapeutic department in the Lviv Oblast-level Cancer Treatment and Diagnostics Center.
Such meetings are very important for managers of multi-district screening centers and for radiologists in terms of successful implementation of screening in the Lviv oblast. Modern mammography devices and computer equipment makes it possible to review mammographic images for accurate diagnostics by two or more specialists from their workplaces.
