Stop the Epidemic of Cardiovascular Catastrophes Conference

It was initiated by State Institution "Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery of the NAMS" and the Association of Cardiovascular Surgeons of Ukraine with the assistance of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine.

The conference was attended by Kostiantyn Rudenko, a Chief external expert of the MoH of Ukraine on specialty "Surgery of the heart and great vessels in adults". The meeting with colleagues from Vinnytsia was also attended by the scientists of Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery  and Institute of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology.

The conference participants also visited Vinnytsia Regional Clinical Center for Treatment and Diagnostics of Cardiovascular Diseases. Over 2 years from the date of establishment, it has concentrated the technical and personnel capacity to provide quality and timely care to the population. Today, the Center is a project participant funded by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Over the last 3 months alone, more than 40 patients have been operated at the project expense. The population is treated on a free basis at the expense of the project partners, as Volodymyr Gladkykh, the chief physician of the Center, said. In addition, he has presented to my colleagues a design of the future Cardiac Center, the construction of which is provided by the project and will begin in early 2017.
