The visit of the World Bank group and advisory support to Zaporozhye region

On September 26, 2016 in the framework of the joint Project of the Ministry of health of Ukraine and the World Bank “Improving Health in Servicing People”, a World Bank professional team and advisory support of the Ministry of Health made a working trip to Zaporizhia region. The group consisted of Von Zao , the background Leader, Olena Doroshenko, the World Bank specialist on health, Alexandra Hriaznova, the team’s Assistant, Dmitry Jakubowski, the interpreter, Yevgenia Matyushko, deputy head of consultancy support of Ministry of Health and the consultant of introduction of DRG Catherine Rossol. During the visit, the members of the delegation took part in a meeting of the “Improving Medical Care for the patients with diseases of the circulatory system in Zaporizhia Oblast” sub-project Group management, visited KO “Center for Primary Care number 2”, CU “Regional Medical Center for cardiovascular diseases” AB and personally met with Konstantin Bril, the head of the State Administration in Zaporizhia Oblast.
During the meeting with the group of sub-project management under the chairmanship of Victoria Klymenko, the head of the Health Department of ZRSA, discussed the progress in the implementation of the sub-project’s planning and procurement.
In CP “ Center of Primary Care№ 2”, the experts received complete information on the implementation of reforming primary health care in an institution, increasing staffing States, improving the quality and accessibility of care. The chief doctor TSPMSD Lyudmila Stetsyuk demonstrated a multimedia equipment that was supplied in the framework of the Project and which is actively used by experts of presentations and e-learning.ThemeetingwasalsoattentedbyVictoriaUshakova, theDirectorofHealthDepartmentofZaporizhiaCityCouncil, whodescribedthecityprogramofdevelopmenthealthcareinstitutionsandtheleaderofproviding secondarylevelhealthcare Nadia Sevalnyeva.
DuringavisittoKU“RegionalMedicalCenterforcardiovasculardisease” ABmembersofthegrouptogetherwiththechiefdoctorJohnKurpaeandidiscussedthequalityofhealthcareinstitutionsofsecondaryandtertiarylevels, interactingwiththeinstitutionsofprimarylevel.
During a personal meeting with the head of Zaporizhia Regional State Administration Konstantin Bril, the parties discussed the administrative support of the Project implementation. Director of Health ZRSA Victoria Klimenko told about joint work team of experts of the Department and a group of sub-project consultants on the implementation of key measures under the Project for strengthening of primary care and improving health care to patients with diseases of the circulation system in Zaporizhia Oblast.
The head of the State Administration assured that the sub-project “Improving Medical Care for patients with diseases of the circulatory system in Zaporizhia Oblast” will continue to have the necessary political and administrative support of the ODA for successful implementation. He also noted that in Zaporizhia region, there are many projects in the field of health, which require immediate implementation. Among them – the establishment of a rehabilitation center for combatants, acquisition of medical facilities with modern equipment that meets European standards. Regional Oncology Center project in the purchase of equipment from early diagnosis and efficient operators for the new angiograph for kardiodyspansera. In the region that is actively following the processes of decentralization, great attention is paid to the development of primary health care. As Konstantin Bril noted, the most important thing in the implementation of projects - a newly created communities have equal access to aid of regional, State and foreign levels.
While summing up the working visit, the experts of the World Bank Group and a group of the Project advisory support reported significant progress in the implementation of the sub-project in Zaporizhia oblast.
