Medical Council in the Lviv Cancer Treatment and Diagnostics Centre

On July 19, a Medical Council on oncology was held at the Lviv State Oblast-level Cancer Treatment and Diagnostics Centre, specifically for the period of the first half of 2017. The heads of the departments reported on the outcomes of work held during the first half of 2017. In addition, the deputy head physician of the medical and treatment unit, Orest Tril, reported on the equipment installed in the framework of the Preventive oncology and the implementation of effective anti-tumour technologies in Lviv oblast under the support of the Health care Department. In particular, the ultrasound devices of an expert class, CT scanner, MRI scanner, mammography devices, and new microscopes are now functioning; liquid-based cytology for cervical cancer screening has been launched. 

 

The subproject management consultant, Ms, Khrystyna Pak, described further steps under the project, which are associated with the establishment of the screening procedure, the work of the multi-district screening centres, and where women should be referred to in order to undergo breast cancer and cervical cancer screening.
