Health care School in the Staryi Sambir district

Two days, three Health care Schools, about 60 women, 3 men ...

 

We are again traveling throughout the oblast with the educational initiatives - Health care Schools! We started with the Staryi Sambir district, one of the most distant districts, the village of Strilky, the village of Susidovychi, the village of Liutovyska! The topic was selected by the family physicians at place - The main cause of death in women is breast cancer, while that in women in the reproductive age - cancer of the cervix! The attendees were women fit for the "screening age" (from 45 years old) - we hope that a short distance in 18 km to the nearest multi-regional screening centre, free examinations, and telephone appointments will not disturb much the quiet life of a healthy woman.

 

Due to the support of the Lviv State Oblast-level Cancer Treatment and Diagnostics Centre, the Centre's specialists, specifically Petro Vovk (radiotherapist), Ihor Soltys (gynaecological readiologist), and Mariana Haskevych (gynaecological oncologist) took part in the Health care Schools.
