The first surgery using the new equipment was done in the Lviv State Oblast-level Cancer Treatment and Diagnostics Centre; equipment was purchased in the framework of the "Preventive oncology and the implementation of effective anti-tumour technologies in Lviv oblast" Subproject under the joint World Bank's and the Ministry of Health Care of Ukraine "Serving People, Improving Health" Project.
Oleh R. Duda, a surgical oncologist from the head and neck department carried out first surgical interventions, specifically with respect to pancreatic and thyroid cancer, and with regard to metastatic affection without a primary site - perhaps occult breast cancer. In general, 6 operations were conducted on 2 operating tables; 2 more operating tables were additionally installed today.

During March 2017, the LLP "TechMedKontract" carried out delivery of equipment
under the Contract Agreement No. ICB 4.1.1/Lot 1 (the contract price being UAH 3 530 068) to the health care facilities in the Lviv oblast, specifically: equipment for surgical rooms (operating tables and surgical lamps) and gynecological chairs. The operating tables and the lamps are designated for the Lviv Oblast-level Cancer Treatment and Diagnostics Centre, while the gynecological chairs are intended for the Lviv Oblast-level Cancer Treatment and Diagnostics Centre, Drohobych municipal hospital № 3, Chervonohrad central municipal hospital and Sambir central distrct hospital.
