The Health care Department has completed the procedure of gynecological sets and cytology brushes procurement to ensure accessability to gynecological examinations for all women in the Lviv oblast in the framework of the "Preventive oncology and the implementation of effective anti-tumour technologies" under the joint World Bank's and the Ministry of Health Care of Ukraine "Serving People, Improving Health" Project.

The joint World Bank's and the Ministry of Health Care of Ukraine "Serving People, Improving Health" Project is aimed at supporting health care reform and is oriented towards achieving three main objectives: combatting non-communicable diseases, with emphasis on prevention; improving the quality and efficiency of medical care; optimizating and restructuring hospitals and outpatient services associated with the secondary level.

 

The project is implemented in the period between 2015 and 2020 in 8 oblasts of Ukraine: Volyn, Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizzhia, Transcarpathian, Poltava, Rivne, and Lviv oblasts.

 

The subproject in the Lviv oblast is aimed at improving health of the female population of the Lviv oblast in the field of combating malignant tumors.

 

The procurements held within the subproject are conducted in accordance with the rules of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development using the loan No. 8475-UA allocated towards the "Serving People, Improving Health" Project of the government of Ukraine and IBRD.
