Visit of the experts of the World Bank and Ministry of Health Care

A visit of the experts of the World Bank and those of the Ministry of Health Care of Ukraine to the Lviv oblast was held between 15 and 16 June, 2017.
The delegation was represented by the economist of the World Bank, Ms. Olena Doroshenko, by the Acting Head of the Division for Reform Centers Coordination of the Ministry of Health Care of Ukraine, Ms. Lesia Karpinska, and the PCSU Consultant for Coordination in the oblasts, Ms. Yevheniya Matiushko.
The purpose of this year's mission was to review the results of the subprojects of the Lviv and Zakarpattya oblasts in the framework of the "Serving People, Improving Health" Project, therefore, the representatives of the subproject management groups of Lviv and Zakarpattya oblasts participated in the workshops.
The format of the meeting included listening to the results of the subproject works of both oblasts, as well as consideration of the proposal on the use of savings under the subproject and consideration of the issue regarding the continuation of the subsidiary agreement between the Ministry of Health Care and the OSA.
According to the results of the "Preventive oncology and the implementation of effective anti-tumor technologies in the Lviv oblast" Subproject implementation, it was recognized as the most successful, since 95% of all the planned procurements were carried out and, as a result of these, savings were reached, which will be aimed at purchasing additional diagnostics equipment for the health care facilities of the Lviv oblast.
During the visit, a presentation of the preliminary results of the research carried out by the Western Ukrainian Resource Center on monitoring the procurements in the framework of the project, was also held. As a result of the monitoring, the work of the subprojects is recognized as fully compliant with the procurement procedures.
Iryna Mykychak, Head of the Health care Department of LOSA, noted that the positive experience in implementing the project shows a high interest in further cooperation with the World Bank in the field of health care.
