Presentation of Siemens' equipment in the Lviv Cancer Centre

On July 12, during a general hospital meeting held at the Lviv State Oblast-level Cancer Treatment and Diagnostics Centre, a representative of Siemens, Mykola Aghabalov, familiarized the cancer centre team with the capabilities of the diagnostic equipment which was installed in the framework of the "Preventive oncology and the implementation of effective anti-tumor technologies in the Lviv oblast" Subproject.

 

During the last two months, the Siemens' engineers have been working on the installation, while the applicant, Mario Saha, has been setting-up equipment in the cancer treatment centre, and now they are finalizing training of doctors to work on this equipment.

 

In particular, the examination is already being carried out on ultrasound devices of the expert-class, on mammography devices, including stereotactic biopsy, computed tomography device, X-ray device, and C-arm mobile device.

 

Now the oblast-level cancer treatment and diagnostics centre is equipped with expensive equipment, which will function for the benefit of people and will be productive for doctors, for early diagnosis, and for effective treatment of patients with cancer.

 

Siemens is one of the leading manufacturers of medical equipment, offering a full range of medical imaging systems for diagnosis and therapy. Due to the international procurement procedures under the "Serving people, improving health" Project, the bidders were foreign companies who manufacture equipment. Due to high competition and reasonable selecting process, it is Siemens' equipment that has been purchased for the needs of the oncology service in the Lviv oblast.
