Acting Minister of Health visited the screening centres

On November 2, 2017, the Acting Minister of Health, Uliana Suprun, visited the multi-district screening centres in Lviv and Chervonohrad. She got acquainted with the work of the mammography equipment; as a radiologist, she talked with the doctors working with that equipment. Ms. Suprun emphasized that the most important task of the screening centres is to identify pathologies at early stages, so that treat cancer treatment would be effective!
During the time associated with the functioning of the equipment in 6 screening centres, over 10 000 women underwent mammography examination. More than 6 000 ultrasound examinations were performed. Over 178 000 cytological samples were examined using modern digital microscopes.
More than 4 000 electronic patient cards have been created in the Electronic Registry of the Female Population.
The work associated with the introduction of the population-based screening of breast and cervical pathologies in the Lviv oblast continues.
