A meeting of the SMU №4 (expanded) with the representatives of the districts regarding establishment of the multi-district screening centres

On June 24, an extended meeting of the SMU was held with the representatives of the district centres - Sambir, Drohobych, Chervonograd.

During the meeting, important issues related to the beginning of the project implementation were raised, namely the availability and the ability of each of these districts to provide adequate premises for the multi-district screening centres. It is planned that multiple offices will function in such centres - a gynaecological room equipped with a colposcope, a room for ultrasound, a room for mammography, a laboratory. Registration of the female population in order to develop a Single Registry of the women in the Lviv oblast is compulsory, since one of the objectives of the project is the maximum possible early diagnosis of oncology diseases in women, and therefore their timely examination is sufficient.

Taking into account establishment of such screening centres in Sambir, Chervonograd and Drohobych, it is important to consider the convenience of reaching by women from different districts, and thus the correct formation of spatial distribution of all districts between the proposed centres.

 Over the next days, the director of the department and the deputy director plan to carry out on-site inspections of the proposed premises. In its turn, the responsible personnel in the districts need to submit counter-proposals by July, 7.

 

The outcomes of work will be discussed in Kiev, at the working meeting of the representatives of the Lviv oblast and the World Bank's mission in Ukraine.
