A meeting of the Director of the Health care Department of LOSA with head physicians from the district hospitals

During the working meeting of the Director of the Health care Department with head physicians from the district hospitals of the Lviv oblast, the activities of the World Bank's subproject "Oncology prevention and effective anti-tumour technologies implementation in the Lviv oblast" were presented.

 

 

On Friday, September 4, at the working meeting held with head physicians at the Health care Department, Orest Tril, Deputy Head physician of the medical unit in the State Cancer Treatment and Diagnostics Centre for the Lviv Oblast, referred to the World Bank's "Serving People, Improving Health" project and its component - the subproject "Oncology prevention and effective anti-tumour technologies implementation in the Lviv oblast".

 

In Ukraine, the project is aimed at combatting non-communicable diseases, with particular emphasis on prevention; improvement of the quality and efficiency of medical care; optimization and restructuring of hospitals and outpatient services of the secondary level.

 

In the Lviv oblast, the project on oncology prevention will be implemented, since breast cancer leads among the incidences of cancer in women and cervical cancer is the leader of mortality among women of the reproductive age. The project is aimed at promoting early diagnosis of these diseases due to the introduction of a registry of the female population in the oblast, developing an electronic system for data exchange between antenatal clinics, screening centres and the Cancer Treatment Centre, as well as providing modern equipment.

 

The meeting was attended by the experts of the subproject, by the epxrtts in the field of oncology who will provide consulting services to the SMU regarding issues related to medical equipment, organization of training sessions for the specialists etc.
