Doctors remotely save lives of cardiac patients

Given the prevalence of cardiovascular disease, it is difficult to overestimate the importance of the most simple and accessible diagnostic method - the registration of an electrocardiogram (ECG). Until recently, the idea of ??registering ECGs for every inhabitant of Zaporizhzhia Oblast is now becoming quite accessible reality. This is possible due to the implementation of the subproject "Improvement of medical care for patients with blood Circulation sytemdiseases in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast" (hereinafter - the Subproject) of the joint Project of the Ministry of Health Care andthe World Bank "Improving Health,ServicingPeople". In the framework of the implementation of the Subproject, under the direction of НСD ZOSA, medical equipment was purchased for the equipment of the primary health care centers of Zaporizhzhia oblast.Primary health care physicians received ECG registrators for more than UAH 8 million, which they use during their practice.

At the initiative of HCD ZOSA and with the technical support of the MI"Regional Medical Center for Cardiovascular Diseases" ZOCfor the purpose of effective and qualitative provision of medical care by primary care physicians in cardiological patients in Zaporizhzhia oblast, a system of distance counseling of PHCdoctors was created by specialists of the cardiologic dispensary during the analysis and interpretation of the received ECG in complex diagnostic cases. Qualified specialists of the intensive care department of the OblastMedical Center for Cardiovascular Diseases, ZOC are engaged in remote ECG decoding, counseling of primary care physicians for the timely detection of cardiovascular pathologiesin the 24/7mode. Pioneers in the transmission of information about the electrical activity of the heart of their patients were general practitionals - family doctors of Mikhailovkaand Yakimivkadistricts. The system is now working effectively and covers all primary health care institutions in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

 The system created in oblastallows to bring medical assistance to the population as much as possible, to improve the quality of diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases, timely and qualified medical assistance at the pre-hospital stage, and, if necessary, to ensure and urgent hospitalization of the patient to the specialized institutions of 2 and 3 levels of medical care provision.
